Plotly Virtual Hangout

Bringing Passionate Python Developers Together

November 20 @ 12PM EDT

We’re proud and lucky to have a thriving community of enthusiastic Plotly users. Plotly Community Manager Adam Schroeder started a new initiative called “Plotly Hangouts”. The casual session will occur every month and feature an interactive interview with a Plotly Community member with live audience Q&A. (Think of it as a virtual fireside chat!)

November’s session will feature Andrew Pikul, founder of Grupo Pikul. The session will highlight how Andrew’s wide experience across several layers in computer science has influenced his work and startup business. Andrew will share the following topics in our conversation:

  • How the geological industry can benefit from open source geological software
  • Why he chose Plotly for his business
  • How to create and manage a startup life

Don't miss this opportunity — reserve your spot for November's community hangout now!

Meet the Speakers

Adam Schroeder

Adam Schroeder is passionate about helping people learn data visualization. He has helped the community grow by building 1:1 relationships, resulting in 1.5 million downloads of Dash per month. Prior to joining the team, Adam taught Plotly Dash for over three years on YouTube as @CharmingData, whose videos have over 60,000 views per month. More recently, he was inspired to co-author “The Book of Dash” to provide another learning method for people who want to learn Dash.

Andrew Pikul

Andrew is the principal engineer and founder of GeoPozo – a visualization framework for geological wells. Studying Electrical Engineering, his background started in a university nano-lab working on memristor materials; from there he built operating systems and drivers, and now he focuses on Python for his own startup. The goal of GeoPozo is enabling data science innovation by connecting new technologies (like AI) with traditional analysis environments.
